Is it OK for a college professor to breast-feed during lecture?
By Lela Davidson
Adrienne Pine, a professor at American University, recently breast-fed her infant daughter during the first lecture of a “Sex, Gender and Culture” class. Afterwards, Pine was “shocked and annoyed” that her breast-feeding was considered newsworthy by the school newspaper. When student reporter Heather Mongilio initially requested Pine’s comments, Pine explained her situation, and then dismissed the matter in an email.

I’ve quoted the first paragraph of this story from ‘Moms Today’ so I could comment on a comment. I came across this story on an extreme RWNJ (Right Wing Nut Job) news site I usually refer to as ‘the cesspool’. I’m always amazed by the alternate reality they’ve created for themselves. It’s a faux reality fed and maintained by Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and all the other RWNJ favorites. Needless to say the general maturity level on this site leaves much to be desired. This comment caught my attention,

Sure. Take a crap too if she wants.”
I’m generally used to the level of idiocy on this forum but to compare a mother feeding her child to a person ‘taking a crap’ is even beyond their usual low level. Besides, if a professor is going to feed her child in class what better class than “Sex, Gender and Culture”?
